Workforce Planning
Human Resource Services will be responsible for developing and implementing Workforce Planning, a proactive solution to ensure Appalachian State University has the right people with the right skills in the right jobs at the right time. Workforce Planning is a critical step in planning for a successful workforce and in achieving the goals of the University’s Strategic Plan. It is a dynamic process that provides a snapshot of the present staffing situation, helps identify the future needs, and lays out a plan to meet those needs.
For successful development and implementation, Human Resource Services will provide tools to management and staff in the areas of:
- Attracting, developing, and retaining employees
- Analyze present workforce competencies and identify competencies needed in the future
- Strategies to address identified workforce gaps
- Career Development and Talent Management
