The Recruitment and Staffing unit assists departments in identifying and selecting long-term (permanent) and temporary employees for jobs that are Subject to the Personnel Act (SPA) of NC. Most, but not all, of these jobs are hourly paid and subject to overtime.
In addition, Recruitment and Staffing works closely with individual staff members who are seeking positions of increased responsibility and career challenge. The office also assists departments with processes and policies to help ensure Appalachian's commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity.
