I am now the HR IS Analyst for our office. Prior to coming to ASU, I was the Payroll Supervisor for Shadowline, Inc for fifteen years. "I began work at ASU as Employment Specialist in September, 2003. Prior to ASU, my experience includes 8 years in Human Resources recruiting and hiring Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologist, and Occupational Therapists nationwide. The atmosphere and the people are why I like working at ASU. Upon graduation, I came on board as a temporary employee, and recently became a permanent employee in the Employment Group. My time at Appalachian, as both a student and an employee, has been wonderful! I have enjoyed the support that has been given to me and intend to give that same support (and assistance) back to the community through my work as an Employment Specialist. Arriving in Boone as a military spouse, it was great to find that Boone and Appalachian was a great place to be. I’ve been privileged to work with and know some outstanding people and would not trade this experience. This experience continues and I enjoy what I do. "I began working in the Office of Human Resource Services in 2005. Prior to coming to Appalachian, I worked at Auto Zone Headquarters in Memphis, TN, at Fleet Bank Boston in Philadelphia, PA and at Wachovia in Charlotte, NC. I grew up in Greensboro, NC, so my family vacationed in the Boone area frequently and I attended Appalachian State for two years; it’s great to be back “home.” I love the mountains and being on campus. I spend a lot of time in the classroom, but I enjoy talking to people one-on-one. I welcome questions and feedback anytime." |

"I began working with Appalachian State University in the Personnel Office in February 1974. Throughout my career at Appalachian, I have remained in the same department. I have seen many changes over the years the evolution of the Personnel Office into the Office of Human Resource Services. Although our department now offers many services online, I still enjoy personal contact with our employees on a one-on-one basis.
